Please join the South Atlantic Chapter of the Construction Management Association of America for our Technical Education Meeting. The presentation will be comparable to AIA and will help you fulfill CEU’s for other organizations. Attendance Certificates will be made available to all attendees.
This Month’s Topic: Structural Design of the Georgia Tech Hinman Building Rehabilitation
Our guest speaker will be:
Jim Case, Uzun Case
Syllabus (1 hour HSW/SD learning unit)
A discussion of the structural challenges associated with the Hinman Building Rehabilitation project will be discussed, including the following:
- The conception and design of the "crib" structure which hangs from an existing crane girder
- Vibration considerations associated with the crib
- Improvement of the existing building's lateral system (for wind and seismic loading)
Jim Case
Jim Case is a founding principal of Uzun & Case Engineers. When his firm, Case Engineering, merged with Uzun Engineers in 1992, the foundations for a successful engineering firm were laid. Uzun & Case is now the largest structural engineering office in Atlanta.
All proceeds will go towards funding the annual scholarships at our awards banquet in June.
